Chiropractic
Chiropractic champions the idea of a holistic approach to health and illness, recognizing the body's inherent ability to heal itself during times of physical injury, mental/emotional or environmental stress. Through painless adjustments of the spine and joints, chiropractors can influence the nervous system and natural defense mechanisms in order to alleviate pain and improve general health. The reason that the proper alignment of the spinal column is essential is because the spinal column acts as a "switchboard" for the nervous system. When there is nerve interference caused by misalignments in the spine, known as subluxations, pain can occur and body's defenses can be diminished. By removing subluxations, normal nerve function can be restored.
Nutritional Evaluation
Proper nutrition is vital to health, and more complicated than many realize, especially since individual needs vary greatly. We can pinpoint your specific nutritional requirements and also identify and eliminate food allergies. Evaluation of different foods and nutritional supplements by determining how your body reacts to them, as observed by manual muscle testing, is a critical addition which allows us to provide you with precise, optimal nutritional support.
Applied Kinesiology
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a form of diagnosis using muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person's body is functioning. When properly applied, an AK diagnosis will reveal different types of "imbalances" which will not show up by most other kinds of testing, and will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care.
BodyTalk
The BodyTalk System, an extraordinary new medical paradigm, is a combination of advanced yoga, advaitic philosophy, modern physics, mathematics, the energy dynamics of acupuncture, the clinical findings of applied kinesiology and western medical expertise. It is a form of therapy that allows the body's energy systems to be synchronized so they can operate as nature intended. BodyTalk is exceptional at reestablishing communication between all systems and parts of the body, which is the key element in maintaining health.
Total Body Modification
Total Body Modification is a technique that is used to find the organ or area of the body that is stressed, determine why it is stressed and correct the problem by restoring balance to the nervous system. While basic chiropractic is used to correct the structure and influence function, TBM corrects the functional physiology (how the body works) which may in turn, influence structure. Both are essential to optimal health. Since a correctly functioning nervous system is a major requirement for health, it follows that TBM can have a part to play in almost any problem and uncover and correct the roadblocks to recovery.
Meridian Therapy
Meridian therapy is the accepted name employed by those who practice the principle of Acupuncture without the use of a penetrating needle. Because acupuncture is a principle, not a technique, there are many ways to stimulate an acupoint other than a needle; we use cold laser and pressure massage. Early Chinese physicians discovered there is an energy network traversing just below the surface of the skin that communicates from the exterior to the internal organs and structures at over 1,000 acupoints on the body. This energy works in harmony with the body's circulatory, muscular, digestive, genitourinary and all other systems of the body. When this energy (chi) becomes blocked or weakened, this has a negative effect on health. Stimulation to key acupoints on the body can restore harmony to the affected area.
Homeopathy
The word homeopathy derives from the Greek word homoios, meaning "similar" and pathos, meaning "suffering". Homeopathic remedies are dilutions of natural substances from plants, minerals and animals. They are based on the principle of "like cures like" and act to stimulate the body's natural healing response. Throughout its 180-year history, homeopathy has proven effective in treating diseases for which conventional medicine has little to offer. Homeopathy is practiced around the world, with an estimated 500 million people receiving homeopathic treatment.
Contact Reflex Analysis
Contact Reflex Analysis, also known as CRA, is a simple, safe, natural method of analyzing the body's structural, physical, and nutritional needs. A deficiency in any of these areas could cause or contribute to various acute or chronic health problems. It is a means by which a doctor uses the body's reflexes to accurately determine the root cause of a health problem. It will even uncover deficiencies at a sub-clinical level, which is when the problem is so tiny the person may not be aware of it or experience any symptoms, and when most modern methods of testing cannot detect it.
Active Release Technique
Active Release Techniques (ART) is a hands-on therapy designed to restore the normal textures and tension to soft tissue structures, allowing full function. Muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerve entrapment sites are the soft tissues on which ART works. ART is used to break down scar tissue and adhesions that form within or between these soft tissues. This revolutionary therapy can be applied to the spine, upper and lower extremities only by a credentialed provider of Active Release Techniques. An ART practitioner uses their knowledge of anatomy, neurology, and biomechanics to correctly diagnose and treat injuries. What attracts so many professional athletes and weekend warriors to ART is the quick results obtained without surgery.
Graston Technique
The Graston Technique is an advanced form of soft tissue mobilization which utilizes specially contoured stainless steel instruments. This technique prevents acute conditions from becoming chronic, reverses the outcome of conditions once thought to be permanent, changes the way soft tissue injuries are treated, and is substantiated by research. It is an outstanding technique for treating all kinds of muscle and joint pain, including repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and "tennis elbow". Clinicians report considerably improved outcomes in a shorter period of time with less treatments.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser is a low power (no heat or tissue destruction) laser that is excellent for pain reduction, enhanced tissue healing, cell regeneration and acupuncture meridian therapy. Cold laser therapy has been called "The Therapy for the 21st Century". It is also highly effective in reducing inflammation and swelling, and promoting healing of damaged tissue. It speeds up recovery from a recent injury to ligaments, tendons or muscles, and also is used to treat old injuries especially by breaking down scar tissue. It is also effective in many types of skin conditions including acne, psoriasis, herpes lesions, wounds and bruises. The laser we use is FDA-approved
Mineral Infrared Therapy
The mineral infrared lamp functions to promote metabolism, regulate physiological deficiencies, diminish and heal inflammation, enhance immunity by improving microcirculation, and relieve pain. The mineral infrared lamp creates electromagnetic waves within a certain range of the spectrum by translating the energy of the heating element to produce electromagnetic waves. These waves enter the body as mineral infrared waves and increase organ functions. The 33 different trace elements in the mineral-coated plate are related to the elements found in the human body. The mineral infrared lamp, in addition to its other healing properties, is also a very effective pain reliever. By directing the mineral infrared lamp on to the affected area of discomfort, the pain is actually diminished by increasing enkephanlin (LEK), a morphine-like substance from the pituitary gland.
Detoxification Techniques
Accumulated toxins in the body account for a myriad of health complaints, ranging from something as simple as fatigue or weight gain, to serious, chronic and degenerative conditions. Toxins accumulate both in the digestive tract, especially the colon, and also in organs and tissues throughout the body. We adhere to time-tested detoxification techniques such as proper diet, nutrition, adequate water intake, exercise, stress management, and use of multi-herb, multi-fiber cleansing formulas. In addition, we utilize state-of-the-art body soaks that pull toxins out of the organs, skin, and tissues, as well as the digestive tract, better than anything I have ever come across in 20 years of seeking out the most effective methods of healing. We have also had great success with a unique cleansing program that is also a fat-loss program. Since one way the body tries to contain toxins is to surround them with fat, when the toxins are pulled out, excess fat comes out with it.
Energy Medicine
Energy medicine refers to therapies that use an energy field: electrical, magnetic, sonic, acoustic, light, infrared- to screen for and treat health conditions by detecting imbalances in the body's energy fields and then correcting them. This detection and correction provides an early warning system for imbalances that may lead to disease. We utilize various holistic therapies/treatment devices such as BodyTalk, Qigong (Infratonic 8), Meridian therapy, Mineral infrared therapy, Cold laser therapy, and Applied Kinesiology that balance the energy levels of the various fields that underlie metabolic or structural problems. We also utilize light-energized, liquid-based products that are electrically charged and encoded with a selection of light-wave frequencies. These frequencies are capable of producing specific energy signals that, when in contact with the body, provide an energetic stimulus that enhances the body's vital functions and activities and promotes healing.
Neuro-Emotional Technique
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a methodology used to normalize unresolved physical and/or behavioral patterns that have become "locked" in the body. For over 5000 years, Chinese acupuncturists have correlated our different emotions with the 12 meridians. The main emotions that can negatively affect health are fear, anger, worry, sadness and grief. These different emotions become "lodged" in different organs and muscles and often contribute to a wide variety of health problems. For example, anger is associated with the liver and muscles near the shoulder blades. NET practitioners use muscle testing and body reflex points to identify both the specific emotions which are involved and the circumstances or stresses surrounding them. Most importantly, the impact of these "stored emotions" on health can often be reduced, and sometimes eliminated, through NET and other emotional techniques we employ. |
